The mental shift of becoming a parent while running a business felt like a ticking time bomb. You can prepare as much as you want, but life still throws curveballs. I already had the patience needed to handle challenging feedback, the multitasking skills to juggle responsibilities, and the ability to analyze situations and adjust. One thing I quickly learned is that balancing motherhood and business comes down to prioritization. Before having a baby, my business was my entire world. But now, that world has expanded. It’s no longer just about the next project or client meeting—it’s about making time for moments with my son, especially because I know they won’t last forever. And yes, there’s guilt too. The societal pressure on moms to choose between work and home can be overwhelming. But I’ve come to realize that it’s okay to make choices that align with both my professional goals and my family’s needs.
